Ozzano – Awarded the Orange Flag by the Italian Touring Club

Ozzano Monferrato was one of the 28 Piedmont municipalities – and of the 225 municipalities across Italy – on center stage at the National Award Ceremony during which the Orange Flags for tourism excellence were awarded by the Italian Touring Club. The ceremony took place against the magnificent backdrop of the Main Council Room at Palazzo Ducale in Genoa, hosted by the Region of Liguria in collaboration with the City of Genoa. The event, held on the twentieth anniversary of the launch of the Orange Flag initiative, was attended by the authorities of the Italian “excellence municipalities.”
The Awards for the period 2018-2020 were given to all the Italian Orange Flags that had sustained the regular three-year audit, and to the new municipalities like Ozzano that had been recently certified.
“We were proud to receive the Orange Flag in Turin last December – said Davide Fabbri, Ozzano’s Mayor. “To be here in Genoa today representing Ozzano, in the distinct company of all the certified municipalities, is something that gives me the goose bumps. Today, Ozzano can take part in an event of national relevance thanks to the daily detailed work of my staff. When I walked out of the Region’s Palace in Turin last December I said that the Orange Flag was not an arrival point, but a starting point. Our presence here today proved, and pushes us to be ambitious, knowing our limits, yet confident of our enthusiasm and our desire to work for our country.”
