Martinotti Farm
Alessandro, 40 years old, used to work for a goldsmith that crafted precious jewels, and over the years he started applying his manual skills and his passion for laborious detail to the family’s winery, in the cellar and in the vineyards.
Alessandro, 40 years old, used to work for a goldsmith that crafted precious jewels, and over the years he started applying his manual skills and his passion for laborious detail to the family’s winery, in the cellar and in the vineyards. He poured his art in the production of genuine, excellent wines, devoting himself to a job that used to be neglected by younger people in favor of “easier” occupations. Alessandro’s mom Rosanna is a precious help in taking care of their four hectares of vineyards where they grow ruchè, barbera, and grignolino grapes.
Alessandro’s wines tell the story of a man’s relationship with his land; they tell the story of dedication to his hard labor and his passion for the fruit it bears.
The farm is enriched by a characteristic infernot, a small cellar hand-carved in tuff, where the best bottles are stored over the years. Alessandro’s guests can buy wine by the bottle, but also by measure, as it is tradition in Monferrato. Last, but not least, visitors will find at his farm one of the world’s most appreciated hazelnut varieties, the famous “Tonda Gentile delle Langhe.”
